Editroom is a recording and production house. Our focus is in acustical music and all recordings take place in acustically most suitable venue. In order to capture the full sound fidelity, we use the most advanced recording formats including DSD and DXD.

 

Editroom is renovating new facilities

After four years of searching, we have found a new place for our studio.
Our new location will be in Malmi, Helsinki near the malmi railway station.

The building allready has many creative and handcraft entrepeneurs.

The renovation and moving to new facilities gives us a possibility to expand our operations. We are building two new studios.
Studio 1 will be mainly for surround projects (5.1)
Studio 2 is for mainly strereo projects

Unconventional and relaxed working enviroment gives us and our customers a place to achive exeptional quality.

The renovation of new facilities was started 9.3.2009. We will start our operations in the new facilities at the beginning of April. We look forward in ever increasing the quality of our work.

Disc of the Year at BBC Music Magazine Awards 2007 for Soile Isokoski's Sibelius CD
Finnish soprano Soile Isokoski's recording of orchestral songs by Jean Sibelius has been awarded ‘Disc of the Year' at the BBC Music Magazine Awards 2007, in addition to winning the 'Vocal Award' (ODE 1080-5). The awards were presented to the soloist and to conductor Leif Segerstam - who on this disc leads the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra in eighteen of Sibelius's orchestral songs and the tone poem Luonnotar - at the official awards ceremony on April 11th, 2007.

The record was recorded at the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki. Recording format was DSD. This record is produced as PureDSD. Not at any stage was the audio converted to PCM-format.

Recording of the Year 2006 from Finnish Broadcasting Company for Aulis Sallinen opera (31.01.2007)
The Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE has chosen the premiËre recording of Finnish composer Aulis Sallinen's opera The King Goes Forth to France (1983) as 'Recording of the Year 2006'. Okku Kamu, who conducted the world premiËre performance at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in 1984, leads a prestigious Finnish cast - including the Cardiff-winner Tommi Hakala (baritone; King), Jyrki Korhonen (bass; Prime Minister), Riikka Rantanen (soprano; The Nice Caroline), Lilli Paasikivi (mezzo-soprano; The Caroline with the Thick Mane) and Jyrki Anttila (tenor; Guide). Also featured are the Finnish Philharmonic Chorus and the Tapiola Chamber Choir (ODE 1066-2D).
